        Welcome to PRAVO!

This newly established online journal will serve to provide researchers from public institutions and private enthusiasts with an interest in Central Europe a means to reach their fellow colleagues across the world quickly and economically. Similarly, one of the journal's main objectives is to provide publishing experience and easy access to contemporary research currently being undertaken by flourishing young scholars with other already established and prominent scholars across the world.

The term 'pravo' is taken from the Czech language. Its numerous meanings such as: privilege, claim to, law, reason, justice, et al. demonstrates the ethnolinguistic complexity of the region. Therefore, 'pravo' embodies the vast interplay of issues between the region's states, and the various nations that ultimately define and embody them.

For a general scope of our journal's content please refer to this page's left column, in which our main areas of scholarship are located: from history to media, and where our issues of interest range from ethnicity to demography are located. Should you require further information, please do not hesitate to consult our navigation bar on the left or contact us through email or post.

PRAVO as a North American journal specializing in the interdisciplinary study of Central Europe will publish bi-yearly in English and French and will be available exclusively online. I would strongly urge you to consider becoming a part of our journal! This would provide you with an opportunity to receive the latest issues and participate in the future direction of the journal.

On behalf of the journal's editorial board, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in our publication and we always appreciate your submissions and comments, which will continue to further our publication's success.

Respectfully,

Jan P. Raška,

Founder & Editor,                                                                                                                     PRAVO: North American Journal for Central European Studies
